Walking Trails

The Doghide River Trail is a scenic route built along the Doghide River as part of the arts development in town.  In development since 1989, the system of walking/cycling/skiing trails along the Doghide River within the Town of Tisdale has grown to over 2 km of all-weather trails, crossing the river twice.

The trail system is incorporated into the wooded area of the Kinsmen McKay Park and runs along several sections of the riverbank.  The trail features a natural wetland with trout pond and a boardwalk and observation deck, a beautiful wooden gazebo, and a large passive park.

Tisdale Riverside Golf Club

Overlooking the Doghide River’s east bank, golfers enjoy summer on the fairways of the Tisdale Riverside Golf Course.  The nine-hole course offers an attractive setting that includes a driving range and modern clubhouse, licensed lounge, luncheon area, pro shop, and patio overlooking the grass greens.

World's Largest Landed Honey Bee

At the intersection of Highways 3 and 35 the world’s largest honey bee has landed! The town mascot weighs two tonnes, is 18 feet long, four feet wide, six feet high and hovers near the Tourist Booth to welcome visitors into Tisdale.

Tisdale & District Museum

Located in Henry Hamilton Park, the Tisdale & District Museum features a Heritage Centre, station replica, and Doghide Village.  The Heritage Centre is comprised of 16 different vehicles known as the Dagg Collection.  Main features include the original 1920 Pearse house, which is furnished with most of the original furniture.  The Doghide Village includes an old fire hall, CPR building, log barn and milk house, general store, teacherage, and a church.

The station houses a permanent display on bee farming in the area.  This display depicts the old bee farmer and the more modern version.  The museum also features artifacts from the historic biggest shoot-out in Western Canada.

Tisdale Motor Speedway

Tisdale Motor Speedway is located half mile south of the museum along Highway 3 on the former Tisdale fair grounds.  It includes a concession stand, covered beer gardens and flush toilets.  The wooden bleachers are divided into two sections, a non-alcohol side and the beer gardens side.  Located on both sides is a grassy area to view the action from lawn chairs.  There is ample free parking available, as well as overnight camping (non-serviced).
